Polygraphica brings you the Comet RS range of presses                                                      

The Comet RS is a narrow web flexographic label and packaging press for labels, special packaging materials and folding box cartons, which is produced in 3 web widths...270mm, 340mm and 430mm.

It has very fast make-ready features with a slide-out ink tray cassette which includes tool-less change-over for the anilox metering and print cylinders.

The un-wind and re-wind of the press are controlled by a unique closed loop tension control plus a variable in-feed and automatic tension control for excellent print results.

The print unit has a special mounting system for exchanging print cylinders. A special contact between the anilox and print cylinder provides superb print results. The registration of the print can be adjusted linear and lateral whilst the press is in operation.

The ink tray is designed to allow for the use of all types of inks; from water based, solvent and UV, allowing good print speeds to be maintained on the press.

The diameter of the anilox roller exceeds the standard industry requirement, which allows for better print quality when in contact with the printing plate.

The presses are custom-made to meet the customer’s requirements with up to 12 print towers. The converting features can be designed to meet the clients needs. The press can be built with any of the following features: 1 to 4 die-cutting stations, a sheeting station, lamination facility, numbering and special features. Video web inspection and inline personalisation can also be added along with an in-line cold and hot foil facility.
